Working for Us

The Greater Sudbury Housing Corporation spends approximately $3 million annually on a variety of maintenance and construction projects.  Work ranges from interior painting and janitorial work to large capital projects like sitework upgrades, roofing installations and cabinetry. These budget funds are handled by two different departments: Maintenance and Techinal Services.

The Maintenance Department is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our housing portfolio.  This team takes care of cleaning and repainting units upon move-out; and also the ongoing repairs that are required to keep our units in good condition. This department also manages the contracts for snow ploughing, grass cutting and site maintenance.

The Technical Services Department is responsible for the tendering and management of capital projects - things like roads and parking lots, elevator upgrades, large roofing projects, doors, windows, siding and mechanical/electrical work.  In addition, the technical services department does all tendering for maintenance contracts on behalf of the property management department.
